The 427 big block Chevy engine was also equipped with a K&N Engineering air intake system (63-3060-1). “We do specialty tooling for the electronics industry and the aftermarket car industry,” said Widner. “I run K&N on all eight of my vehicles, from my show cars to my private cars. We also participate in the high speed open road racing format.”

The Corvette was a big hit at SEMA, and it also received a lot of attention at the National Corvette Museum at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Kentucky. “High-end performance is already a big benefit from K&N,” said Widner. “We noticed the additional benefit of K&N with the boost in low end performance at Spring Mountain. We ran our Z06 against a Z06 with stock intakes and noticed quicker acceleration off the turns and in the straightaway with K&N.”

Widner also takes his cars to Silver State Classic Challenge and the Bonneville 100. “We have three Denali’s that haul around our cars and we use K&N products for the extra tow power,” he said.
