Introduced in 2007, the second generation Toyota Tundra was designed to shake up the American full-size truck market. Unlike their previous attempt, this Tundra was just as big as an F-150 or Silverado, and it could be ordered with a more American-sized 5.7-liter i-Force V8 engine. With 381-hp and 401 ft-lb of torque, the towing and payload capacity of the 2007-2013 Toyota Tundra 5.7L was now on-par with its more powerful domestic rivals. The 2008-2013 Toyota Sequoia also got a similar size and practicality increase. To feed the K&N intake system a higher volume of cold air, a free-flowing K&N performance air filter is installed inside the factory air box. This reusable cotton gauze air filter allows more air to enter the system than an OEM paper air filter. Yet, the oil treated filter media is able to attract and trap considerably more contaminants, yielding excellent filtration efficiency. Because the sticky cotton fibers, pleated into a large surface area, can hold onto the dirt without impeding airflow, you can drive for up to 50,000 miles before the filter needs to be cleaned. However, if you drive in dusty/dirty conditions, we recommend that you inspect the filter more often.
