"This is my first series championship, but not my first championship," clarified a celebrative Brad Springer. "I did win the track championship at M-40 Speedway back in 1997, in the modified division. But winning the USA Modified Series Championship is by far the most rewarding championship to win."

Springer officially locked up the title at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, at the Welch and Wilson Rock and Race Weekend. The Springer Racing number 61 K&N sponsored car was the fastest in the first practice session, and qualified third quickest out of the strong 29 car field. With one race still to go, and a 164 point lead, Springer's fifth place finish in the 30-lap feature was all he needed to win 2010 USA Modified Series Points Championship.

"I race against the best of the best in modified racing each week, and I'm a strong competitor. I have been racing with the series for many years and have finished in the top-five several times, but now taking the championship, and doing it with one race left, means I have had a great season. I'm so proud of my team, which consists mainly of my wife and parents. They are very supportive and I couldn't do this without them."

Next year for the Brad Springer Racing team is still pretty much up in the air at this point, as it's based on the amount of sponsorship help they are able to obtain, according to Springer.

"I would love to defend my title next year with the USA Modified Series, and also race more big money shows down south this winter and spring. I really enjoyed starting off the 2010 season in Georgia with a big win at Speedfest. That was a great jump-start for our season, so I'm already looking forward to next season."

For the final race of the season Springer says he's headed to Winchester Speedway in Indiana, for the Annual Run for the Gun 50. Springer is the defending winner of the event, taking home the Winchester Rifle last year, and is the current track record holder there as well, with a 16.31 second lap around the famous half-mile, high banked, asphalt oval track.

"I will be going to Winchester to take the win," said Springer. "I have raced hard all season and would love to finish off the points season with a win. As the defending winner at Winchester last year, there's some pressure on me to defend my title."

NOTE - Springer and his team finished in second place at Winchester following this interview. Springer's comments were, "This has been a great season for the team, consistent top-five finishes every week is what won the championship for us. Brad Springer Racing would like to thank K&N and all our wonderful sponsors for helping make this season possible."

Although this was the final points race of the year, Springer isn't done with his season just yet. He will be competing at the North/South Shootout in Concord, North Carolina, on November 5th and 6th, with the USA Modified Series in conjunction with the Rolling Thunder Modified Series.
