In 2008 Dave Stewart introduced the LMB Streetfighters Series to Great Britain. This is a series that provides a road racing experience for people who might not get that opportunity otherwise, and it's open to virtually all class of motorcycles. Stewart manages the British Motor Cycle Racing Club, known as BMCRC, or "Bemsee", it's the world's oldest motorcycle racing club, founded in 1909.

With support from Streetfighters Magazine, K&N, and others, Richie Harrison and Harrison Brothers Racing successfully completed their project Honda CBR600FM in time for the first round of the series. Harrison says there were many occasions, working in his garage in near Siberian temperatures that he wondered whether he would ever finish, or if it was all worth it.

The challenges to get everything completed continued right up until the first round practice session. "I had warmed the engine through and brought it up to temperature, as I jumped onto the bike to go out for qualifying and snicked from neutral to first, at this point the engine cut out and the light bulb in my head switched on," reflects Harrison.

In what he refers to as a "token blond moment," Harrison forgot to short the side stand switch. "Yes you can laugh" he says. The good news is that all has worked out well since.

"I can't begin to describe how happy I am with how well the Streetfighters Magazine/HBR Honda has performed and we now sit firmly in fourth position in the Streetfighter B Championship." The next round takes place at Pembrey on the 10th and 11th of April.

"LMB is the series sponsor" explains Harrison. "It stands for Laurence M. Barry, he is a friend of the organizers, ThundersportGB, and supplies all the recovery vehicles used throughout the series for picking up the fallen or injured riders and machines."

"K&N has been great with their support of me and my younger brother Jonathan; they have provided us with products since 2004. K&N has helped us to some great race wins and more importantly have provided us with products that have been used throughout a number of championship titles. We have never had a single issue with a K&N product; we can just fit it and forget about it. They really are that good."

"Currently the HBR/Streetfighter Magazine 1991 Honda CBR 600FM is graced with a K&N Powersports high flow oil ilter and a K&N air filter element, and we will be using these throughout the 2010 season," remarks Harrison.

According to Harrison, the short term goal for the 2010 race series is for Harrison Brothers Racing to be a regular podium hound every weekend. "We had a great start to the year in round one and two at Mallory Park," says Harrison.

By the time they head to Pembrey, they expect to have improved the bike further, allowing them to run even closer to the front. "You can follow our progress throughout the year by logging onto our MySpace page or by following us on Facebook. Many thanks and I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress throughout 2010."
